R.L.Enterprises is a one-man software consulting firm which began doing business in 1995. In that year, Roland Roberts, the sole proprietor, finished his Ph.D. work at the University of Rochester where, in addition to research in Nuclear Physics, he served as a junior systems administrator for the VAX cluster run by the Nuclear Structure Research Laboratory.
Even prior to that accomplishment, Roland had worked for the Charles Stark Draper Laboratory as a software engineer primarily responsible for writing simulation software to evaluate the performance of a ICBM guidance system.
Since 1995, clients have included Martin Marietta, Screaming Media (formerly The Interactive Connection), Market Arts (now Metis Technologies) as well as several e-commerce sites.
R.L.Enterprises previously operated under the names Unix Software Solutions and Custom Software Solutions.
